Without it, a request from a domestic broadband or mobile customer to a website hosted overseas leaves the country, crosses a submarine cable, and comes back. With it, the request never leaves Bangladesh.

What BDIX changes is latency — the time a request spends in transit — and from Dhaka that is roughly 5–15ms locally against 40–60ms to Singapore. Real, worth having, and about four times, not two hundred.

Measured from Dhaka, round-trip time to our Dhaka servers is 5 to 15 milliseconds. To Singapore it is 40 to 60, to Germany 150 to 180, and to the USA 200 to 300. So for a visitor in Bangladesh the local server answers roughly four times sooner than Singapore and twenty times sooner than Tampa. It is a real difference and it is worth having, but it is latency, not bandwidth, and claims of being two hundred times faster do not survive a traceroute.
Anyone whose visitors are mostly outside Bangladesh. BDIX peering only shortens the path for traffic that originates on a Bangladeshi network; for a reader in London or New York a Dhaka server is the slowest option we sell, not the fastest. If your audience is split, tell us the split and we will give you an honest answer, including that you may want Singapore instead.
