Laravel hosting in Bangladesh, on cPanel

Deploy Laravel with Git and Composer, choose any PHP from 5.5 to 8.5, and let a cron job run the scheduler every minute. From ৳200 a month, no VPS required.

What Laravel needs from a host

A Laravel application asks four things of its host: a recent PHP, Composer, a domain pointed at the public folder, and a scheduler that runs every minute. Every shared and reseller plan here has all four, on the same cPanel account as your email and databases.

There is no SSH login. Instead, cPanel Terminal gives you a command line in the browser, and that is where you run composer install, php artisan migrate and anything else you would normally type over SSH.

What you get

  • PHP 5.5 to 8.5, switchable from cPanel whenever you like
  • Composer, run from cPanel Terminal
  • Git Version Control in cPanel, for deploying from a repository
  • The document root set to public, or an .htaccess rewrite if you prefer
  • A cron job every minute for the Laravel scheduler
  • MySQL and PostgreSQL on the same account

Runs well here

  • Business websites built on Laravel
  • Admin panels and dashboards
  • REST and JSON APIs
  • Online stores and booking systems
  • Older Laravel apps on older PHP
  • Scheduled tasks and queued jobs via cron
  • Symfony, CodeIgniter and other Composer projects
  • Custom PHP applications

Workers that stay running, Redis, Horizon and Octane need a VPS, where you have root access.

Deployment

Three steps to a running app

Bring in your code

Clone the repository with Git Version Control in cPanel, or upload it with File Manager or FTP. Then point the domain at the public folder, or use an .htaccess rewrite.

Install and migrate

In cPanel Terminal, run composer install --no-dev, fill in your .env, then run php artisan migrate --force.

Add the scheduler

Add one cron job that runs php artisan schedule:run every minute. Queued jobs can run from the scheduler too.

Before you deploy

What works differently on shared hosting

Most Laravel sites never notice these. If yours depends on one of them, it is better to know before you buy.

Queues run from cron

A worker that stays running is not allowed on shared hosting. Schedule the queue instead, and it drains every minute:

# routes/console.php
Schedule::command('queue:work --stop-when-empty')
  ->everyMinute()->withoutOverlapping();

No Redis

Use Laravel's database or file drivers for cache, sessions and queues. They are built into the framework and need no extra service.

Build front-end assets before you deploy

Run npm run build on your own machine or in CI, and deploy the compiled public/build folder with the rest of the code.

The cron line

One entry in cPanel Cron Jobs, set to run every minute, drives the scheduler and everything it runs:

* * * * * cd ~/app && php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1

Replace ~/app with your application folder. If the scheduler needs a specific PHP version, ask us for the path to that version's binary.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Which PHP versions can I use?

Any version from PHP 5.5 to 8.5. You switch it yourself in cPanel whenever you like, without opening a ticket. Current Laravel releases need a recent PHP 8, and an older Laravel application can stay on the version it was written for.

Do you offer SSH access?

Not over an SSH client. cPanel Terminal gives you a command line in the browser instead, and that is where you run Composer, Artisan and Git.

Is Composer available?

Yes. Run composer install or composer update from cPanel Terminal, in your application folder.

Can I deploy from Git?

Yes. Git Version Control in cPanel can clone a repository and pull updates, or you can run git pull from cPanel Terminal.

How do I run the Laravel scheduler?

Add one cron job in cPanel that runs every minute: php artisan schedule:run from your application folder. A cron job every minute is allowed on every plan.

Can I run queue workers?

Not as a process that stays running, because long-running workers are not allowed on shared hosting. Run the queue from the scheduler instead with queue:work --stop-when-empty, so waiting jobs are processed every minute and the worker then exits. If you need a worker running all the time, or Horizon, choose a VPS.

Is Redis available?

No, not on shared hosting. Laravel's database and file drivers handle cache, sessions and queues without it. On a VPS you have root access and can install Redis yourself.

How do I point the domain at the public folder?

Either way works. Set the domain's document root to your application's public folder in cPanel, or keep the default folder and use an .htaccess rewrite. Ask us and we will set it up for you.

Do I need a VPS for Laravel?

No. Laravel runs on standard shared cPanel accounts, so you can start on a ৳200 plan. Move to a VPS when you need workers that stay running, Redis, Horizon or Octane, or when traffic justifies it.
